Endometrial Polyps

Endometrial polyp is occurrence in uterus endometrium lining raised lesions. This lesions are similar visually to skin nevus. Endometrial polyps observed during reproductive period or after menopause period.
Polyps could be located at different points of endometrium. In the uterus there may be exist more than just one endometrial polyp. Today’s medicine could not explain exact cause of endometrium polyp occurrence.
Endometrial polyp cells has differentiated genetic mutations and cause to oestrogen hormone increased growth signal.  That is why polyps tend to grow more than other parts of uterus.

Endometrial polyps, more seen at woman who are in reproductive period. Young woman have less observance of polyps. Thus, older women have more tendency to have endometrium polyps. However, endometrial polyps seen less after menopause period. According to a scientific study endometrial polyp detected in 6% of women who have passed menopause period and 12% in women who have in pre menopause stage.
Patients have higher risk of endometrial polyps occurrence in case of obesity, oestrogen hormone containing drug usage (specially after menopause hormonal replacement treatment), tamoxifen usage and some of genetic syndromes (Lynch syndrome).

Some of endometrial polyps does not show any symptoms and could be observed during routine controls or ultrasonography. Most common symptom of endometrial polyps is abnormal vaginal bleeding. Most common bleeding pattern in women of reproductive age  is abnormal bleeding that appears between two periods. They can be cause bleeding after menopause period. Bleeding could be seen as sport or as in normal menstruation period. For diagnosis, doctor does ultrasonography of uterus while giving sterilized serum and determine polyp via histerosonography method. While diagnosis is not clear, doctor use camera view system method called hysteroscopy. For ensure of diagnosis, after totally dissection of polyp it send to laboratory for pathologic analysis.

Generally it is known that endometrial polyps mostly (95%) are good characterized, and not malign, Before period of menopause cancer risk stays at 1%, after menopause malign polyp rate rise to 5% percent. Furthermore, polyps which causes abnormal bleeding, risk of polyp to be malign is higher than which is without bleeding symptoms. It is important to be careful in case of vaginal bleedings accompanied with polyps because of cancer risk specially after menopause.

Women whose want to got pregnant have seen endure trial polyps time to time. Patients who have infertile treatment and observed polyps, then they recommended to be taken.

Endometrial polyps has taken with hysteroscopy method. With this method special camera inserted in uterus to diagnose polyps and with the same method polyps removed by cutting from endometrium lining. Removed polyps sent to pathology specialists for diagnosis to ensure about presistence cancer or not.
Procedure in general performed under anesthesia and in average lasts for 30 minutes. After surgery patients discharged the same day and could turn back to home with less pain. In just a few days patient turn back to their normal lives.

This virus in a sensitive way examined as pap smear test by taking a sample.
However, HPV virus is not the only cause which prepare the suitable ground for cancer, there are other factors, too.

Genetic factors of patient, immune system, cigarette and other tobacco products usage, habits, sexually transmitted diseases, nutrition and other many factors could create tendency for cervical cancer.

You could apply precautions that listed below to reduce cervical cancer risk:

HPV Jabs:
Main risk factor of developing cervical cancer is HPV virus, to defeat the virus, developed HPV jabs which prevent most of cancer diseases caused by HPV types (type 16 & 18).

Quit of cigarette and tobacco products:

Cigarette and tobacco products have many of dangerous chemicals that first of all prepare ground for developing lung cancer and much other cancer types. Harmful chemicals mixing with blood and then excreted through glands. This chemicals excreted by the cervical mucus as well and interact with HPV virus which is cause to rise risk of cancer. Smoker patients have cervical cancer risk 2 times more. Less exposure to cigarette smoke will reduce the risk of cancer.

Strenght your immune system:

Immune system has an important role to fight with cancer cells and take away the HPV virus. HIV infection or usage of immune system suppressed drugs rise risk factors of developing cervical cancer. Patients who has this diseases must be routinely followed by physician that could help patient with early diagnosis. Other factors for boost your immune system are healthy consumption of products, routinely  physical activities, following hygiene rules.

Preventing of sexual transmitting diseases:

Firstly chlamydia disease and other sexual transmitting infections are observed to be in accompany with HPV virus. Genital infection risks could be reduced by prevention methods such as using preservative.
